2024 Huck Trot Registration
The Donnelly Friends of the Library are very excited to announce the date for this year’s annual Hück Trot.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 10th for this year’s race from the Donnelly Library to Historic Roseberry and back.
Last year we had over 175 runners
and we expect an even bigger turn out this year, so be sure to register as soon as possible to secure your spot.
As in years past, we trot in memory of Kerri and Jurgen Hawkins, friends and supporters of the Donnelly Library!
The proceeds raised from this year’s Huck Trot will be used to help support the expansion of The Donnelly Library. We will also be purchasing books in honor of Kerri and Jurgen for both
the Donnelly Library and the McCall Library, in their names.
15th Annual Hückleberry Trot 5K Fun Run Registration
Saturday, August 10th, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.
Donnelly Public Library
Join us on Saturday, August 10th, 2024 at the Donnelly Public Library (150 E. State Street) for the annual Hück Trot. Race whistle will be blown at 9 am, with check-in to begin at 8 am. The 5K (3.1 mile) course starts at Donnelly Public Library, 150 E. State Street, and will travel out to Historic Roseberry and back to the library.
Registration Deadlines: Register online today! Same day registration is also available from 8 am – 8:30 am the day of the race.
Registration Fees: Registration is $25.00 for ages 13 and older. Registration is $15.00 for ages 5-13. Anyone under 5 Trots for free!
Registration packets will be available at the Donnelly Public Library on race day starting at 8:00 a.m.
Raffle Tickets will be sold the day of the race for a drawing at 1 pm Sunday following Huckleberry Breakfast.
The first 200 race registrants will receive a tee-shirt and goody bag. Awards will be given to those who finish first in their age bracket.
All proceeds from the race will be presented to the Friends of Donnelly Library in memory of Kerri Ann Hawkins & Jürgen Hawkins.

One of the most wonderful things about life in Donnelly is the Annual Huckleberry Festival which takes place in August. For the 3rd year in a row, The Friends of Donnelly Library will be hosting the Huckleberry Trot 5K race. Last year the Huckleberry Trot brought in just over $10K for the Friends of the Library. This has become one of our Keystone events for fundraising for the Friends of the Library and we could not have done it without the help of our sponsors. With that in mind, it is that time of year for us to reach out to our continued supporters, as well as new supporters, for this year’s sponsorship opportunities. We hope you will consider sponsoring or donating something for the Huck Trot race. Your donations provide us with the initial seed funds to be able to market the event, provide animation, and give aways the day of the race. It is a great way to gain exposure in our growing community. Last year we saw 200 racers and walkers that are not just local, but visitors that have been doing this race every year from around the country. We also always have Huckleberry Festival attendees come to watch. This year we expect more visitors and hope to raise $15K! We have included sponsorship levels for you to choose from and are extremely grateful for any amount you are able to contribute. (All contributions are tax deductible). This year we will be running from the Donnelly Library to the Roseberry Mercantile in Historic Roseberry and back. This event will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. We will have event posters that will be displayed in various locations throughout Valley County.
