A county-wide mask mandate was approved at last night’s Central District Health Board meeting and is now in effect for Valley County. We know there are a lot of questions and we will try to answer them! A good place to start is the Central District Health website FAQ page: https://www.cdh.idaho.gov/dac-coronavirus-valleyorder.php
➡️ WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THIS ORDER?
Every person is required to wear a face covering that completely covers the person’s nose and mouth when the person is in a public place, or on the property of a public or private or charter school, or technical school or college or university, and others are present and physical distancing of 6 feet cannot be maintained.
➡️ WHAT IS CONSIDERED A “PUBLIC PLACE?”
“Public place” shall mean any place open to all members of the public without specific invitation, including but not necessarily limited to, retail business establishments, government offices, medical, arts, educational and recreational institutions, public transportation, including taxi cabs and ridesharing vehicles, outdoor public areas, including but not limited to public parks, trails, streets, sidewalks, lines for entry, exit, or service, when a distance of at least six feet cannot be maintained from any non-household member.
➡️ HOW LONG WILL THE ORDER BE IN EFFECT?
CDH and its Board of Health have not assigned a targeted end date for the order; instead, it will be in place until amended or made void by the Board. Meetings are held virtually every Tuesday at 4pm.
➡️ HOW WILL THE ORDER BE ENFORCED?
A person can be issued a misdemeanor if they are in violation of any part of the order. CDH is relying heavily on the public’s willingness to comply and recognize that wearing a face covering is a valuable tool to protect our communities. In working with our law enforcement partners, we anticipate the enforcement approach will be largely be focused on education.
To read the Order, find additional FAQs and a list of exceptions to the face covering requirement, please visit https://www.cdh.idaho.gov/dac-coronavirus-valleyorder.php

The Donnelly Public Library is trying to do everything we can to help in this crazy new environment.  The wonderful news is that people are reading a lot!  We know that it’s hard to access reading materials when you maybe can’t come to the library, but we’re doing our best to provide our patrons with whatever they need at this time, from books to information and community resources.

ACCESS TO ELECTRONIC LIBRARY RESOURCES

Your library membership includes access to the Idaho Digital Consortium  which can be accessed online or through the Libby App (for phones and mobile devices – look in your app store).  During this time, the library has free access to Tumblebooks, directions to access are here.  Through LiLi, we always have access to the LearningExpress Library and other LiLi resources (see sidebar for links).  Sherry has also set up access to Epic and is hosting a competition for Donnelly Elementary classes – check out our Facebook or this post.

In addition to ebooks, we are providing some online programming, including a story hour and Middle School Book Club.  Check out our programs page or our Facebook feed for more information.
