Bracelet coding

Materials:

Beads

Thread

Paper 

Pencil 

 

Lesson:

The kids are going to write down a code for every letter of the alphabet. With the corresponding letter they are going to code their names on a bracelet. 

 

Objective:

They are going to learn some basic coding skills, the goal will be for them to have a peaking interest into learning about a different career path. 

 

Examples of bead code: 

Find the first letter of your first name in the Binary Decoder Key.

Fill in the squares of the provided bracelet to match the pattern of the squares next to the letter that you selected.

Cut the bracelet out.

Tape the bracelet around your wrist to wear it!

Share your bracelet with your classmates to see if they can figure out your letter.
