Camp Recap written by Annabelle Littlejohn
Today, the kids had a great day outside. We made Giraffes and learned about water solubility by using markers, water and coffee filters to make our giraffes. Snowdon Wildlife Sanctuary also came and taught the kids about owls and the environments they live in. They also talked about what Snowdon does to save hurt animals.
The animal they got to meet was a great horned owl. Her name was Merlin and she was hit by a car when she was 1 year old and she broke her elbow on her wing as well as went blind in one eye. She was a teaching bird in Boise until she was donated to to Snowdon for teaching.
Here is a link for more information on what Snowdon does.
Snowdon will also be having an open house were they will be giving a tour of their facility to the public. Its only open one day a year. The open house is September 29th this year. You can also sponsor animals on the website.
The kids read Roald Dahl, The Giraffe the Pelly and me.
In quiet reading they read books about owls.
