Monday: Latin students enjoyed a certamen and worked on a crossword puzzle for their vocabulary in Stage 1. Students did not bring a word to class to analyze but did learn the etymology of the word umbrella, which comes from the Latin word umbra which means shade or ghost. Umbrella means little shade.
Toddler Time Miss Maggie read Apples and Pumpkins, My Pumpkin and Hibernation Station.
Miss Sherry had the 2nd and 3rd grade from Mountain Community School and read Squirrel Manifesto by Ric Edelman and Jean Edleman
Tuesday: Spanish students learned about the artist Frida Kahlo by listening to the book Frida Kahlo by Isabel Sanchez Vegara and listened to Dormire la Siesta in Spanish and Marshall read the English translation afterward.
Thursday: Spanish students listened to Run, Little Chaski, An Inka Trail Adventure by Mariana Ruiz Johnson.
