May 2021 Friends Meeting

Friends of Donnelly Library Meeting 5/6/21

Amanda opened meeting

Attending : Amanda Vrany, Jayme Gamble, Sherry Scheline, Karen Tatum Ternes, Mary  Stegner, Beth Heflin, Laura Bettis, Hannah Carroll, CeCe Carson, Cliff Scheline

May 23 NEA Big Read  

function @ Roseberry – need cake, have baclava and hot chocolate, Jr friends booth telling  fortunes, DPLD booth, dress up function (Greek)

Karen will make spanikopita

Amanda will make baklava

Mary’s mom will make cake

May 28/29 Donnelly Yard Sale 

Library to hold book sale

Melissa Maini’s class working on it as well

Need volunteers on Saturday (mary to organize)

Pricing to be ‘by donation’

Ad in paper, posters, authorized $350, Cliff moved, Laura second, passed Flier at school.

Wed 26 6 pm- get books from Sherry’s, meet at library, need tables and tarps, pizza for kids

June 16/ Farmers Markets 

Volunteer slots 1:30-4 and 4-6:30, Beth has sign up for June and July

Aug 14/ Huck Trot  

need lots of volunteers. Looking for sponsorships. Will start/stop at library.

Summer ::  

Bunco – maybe host home Bunco nights and $$ goes to library. Amanda is gathering rules and  supplies for a traveling Bunco Box.

Summer book club – just Friends or invite friends. Will go to book club in a bag after. Meet 2nd  thursday of month

June: This Is How It Always Is

July: Bookwoman of Troublesome Creek

August: Beautiful Ruins, Cold Millions

Book storage – going forward what are options: tipi, shed, storage container. Teepee is  $12,000, shed under $3000, storage container maybe $4,000. Storage container most weather  tight. Maybe rent a dumpster or Sherry suggested sharing with Frost Property Management.

Little library – motion to buy a box of kids books, Jayme moved, Laura second, passed.  Meeting closed at 6:59p
