Recently, I began archiving some of our blogs on our website at the Library. There was a very frequent theme, ” Our program would not be as successful though if it was not for the financial contributions from Jill Layton at The Donnelly Trading Post. Jill contributed to books, supplies, prizes and her contributions are what allow us the opportunity to continue to provide successful opportunities to our community.” Quotes like this are all through out our website. Starting in 2018 when the Library opened their doors.
We saw a need in Donnelly and immediately started to try and fulfill needs. We started an after school program. We started an after-school program with no funding. Jill gave me $50 and said use it on the kids. A couple weeks later another $50 and a command to not buy books, use it for the kids. The $50 became $100. I also wanted to make cookies so she gave me butter. I need ice cream and so she gave me ice cream. Every request I had, Jill fulfilled. Jeff Crosby has a song called Hold This Town Together and we cannot think of a better song to honor Jill. She is a person that holds this town together.
Today, we celebrated the LEGEND. We had a wonderful time praising Jill Layton. She has been a huge contributor to the Library since the beginning. It has always been a joke that our Children’s Program is funded in large part by the Liquor Store. We prefer to call it #TheTradingPost 
We are blessed to have Jill in our community. Thank you Jill for all you have done! #HappyRetirement She hates her picture being taken so some of these are rare
