Day 20 Vietnam

Today we read about Vietnam in All Around the World: Vietnam! Vietnam has puppet shows on water and its islands are more like tall shards of mountains. The kids were a little shocked to find out that there are still bombs under the water in some parts of Vietnam from the Vietnam War. Also, there were some mixed reviews about Vietnamese students going to school Monday through Saturday. After we learned about life in Vietnam, we got to try some of its flavors by having some oranges and dumplings with fish sauce for our snack.

We read The Brothers and the Star Fruit Tree: A Tale from Vietnam and Stone Soup and then learned to play a popular game in Vietnam, O An Quan.
