Camp Library Day 3…
Written by Sherry Scheline (Library Director)
What happened to day 2??? We were simply to busy. The heat has been crazy this week. The kids have been troopers working through temperatures reaching in to the 100s. We are blessed to have the purchase of our new lot to the east of the Library. The kids have been able to run in the sprinkler and also find shade in the tree. The Library expansion will be so wonderful, but in the meantime we will enjoy the lot to it’s fullest.
Tales and Tails is our Summer Reading theme. The students have had the joy of learning about different animals and their habitats this week. Camp Library for June is Farm Tales. They have stuck primarily with domestic animals. Day 3 of Camp Library partnered with Summer Reading Program and had a special program from mcPaws, our local animal shelter. The students learned how they should interact with dogs and also had a visit from Spoon, a mcPaws kitten. mcPaws
mcPaws handed out fun stickers and gave the kids a great little coloring book. If you would like to access the coloring book from home here is the link:
We have such a wonderful group of kids. They have been troopers through this heat. We are over half-way through our inaugural #CampLibrary and I believe it was a strong success.
