Hitting the slopes, snowmobiling, sledding and more… This time of year is packed with exciting activities, but perhaps your child is not one that likes the cold or maybe they have become ill. We have 5 great winter suggestions for inside activities.
1. GAME DAY
Come in to the library and check out a new board game that you have not played. The library has Cadoo, Are You My Mother, Pictionary, Master Detective, The Farming Game, Chutes and Ladders and more. If you are wanting to adult it and not include the kids try Trivial Pursuit or Risk.
2. Check out an audio book. Download the app. Libby for Overdrive and check out an audio instead of book. Switch up your reading a little. Donnelly Public Library District is part of the Idaho Digital Consortium and has a great selection of online audio options.
3. A day without internet. Yes, you read that correctly. Shut off the internet at your house and on your phone for the entire day. Make it a day of cooking (yes, you may have to check out a cookbook because no internet to Google the recipe.) Make it a day of crafts (yes, you may have to check out some craft books.) NO cheating!
4. Set a reading goal. Set a goal to finish before the 1st of the year. Reading goals can push you to read more. Set a goal that can be attained but will push you to a higher level in your reading.
5. Stop in at the library. Grab a book, grab a cake pan, grab a game, grab one of our development bags. The options are endless come on in. Visit Read Repeat
