Time to Return Your Library Items

Covid-19 has brought about chaos in many ways.  One way we tried to help was to eliminate due dates and fines during this time.  We have returned to regular business hours as of May 1st, and now we are requesting you return your items.  If you are choosing to stay home we respect that and have set up the ability for you to renew online at www.donnelly.biblionix.com or you can call the Library at 208-325-8237.

Unfortunately, in the last few days we have seen several items from the Donnelly Public Library on Facebook classifieds.   Not just books, but dolls, robots, and more have appeared for sale.   We believe this has stemmed from the lengthy check out times and by the deep cleaning many of you have been engaging in at home while in Quarantine.  We ask that when in doubt, please ask.  We are happy to tell you if something belongs to the Library.   We did see one of our DASH Robots for sale grossly under priced.  We want to assure access for everyone and loss of these financially costly items damages use for all.

Our intent is not to scold anyone or call anyone out.  Rest assured we have done some cleaning during Corona as well and are eager for our first book sale to get rid of numerous books we have weeded out of stock.  We understand the need to purge.  Please make sure it is your item you are purging.

(We will not begin to assess fines again until June 1st, 2020.  As always you can read it off, work it off, or pay it off).

We want you to have access, we cannot continue that great service if people begin to sell off Library merchandise.

Thank you!

Sherry Scheline

Director Donnelly Public Library
