Our summer program finished here in Donnelly. I am incredibly proud of our kids.
Our Program ran June 1- September 1 and we had 56 participants in the reading contest. The reading contest was open to all ages, but you had to be under 18 to qualify for prizes.
Our kids read 4753 Books 9812 chapters and a total of 67,620 minutes. Stats of which I am very proud of.
We also had 845 kids participate over the summer at our reading program at Donnelly Farmers Market and 70 participants throughout the summer at our pop-up mini.
We would also like to thank those who made Summer Reading Possible:
Idaho Commission For Libraries
Friends of The Donnelly Library
Our program would not be as successful though if it was not for the financial contributions from Jill Layton at The Donnelly Trading Post. Jill contributed to books, supplies, prizes and her contributions are what allow us the opportunity to continue to provide successful opportunities to our community.
Finally, the winners…
We calculated up points which were collected from chapters read and time in addition to completion of specific books read for Brag Tags. In the end it was clear that the families who read together succeed together. We had 4 winners with a sibling either coming in second or pulling a tie. We decided all 8 kids deserved the win. Each child was awarded a shirt from Friends of The Donnelly Library and $50 plus numerous bragtags.
Also thank you to Indigo, our Summer Reading Intern.
