Winter has definitely made it to the mountains! As I look out the window right now, there are big fat snowflakes coming down. This past weekend, the library participated in the McCall Festival of Trees, winning the best traditional tree! Our tree included some suggested reads for these cold winter months and even some hot cocoa.
If you haven’t read “Educated” by Tara Westover, check it out! This memoir, by a woman raised in eastern Idaho, is a story of determination and independence.
If you have an upper elementary or middle school child, we highly recommend “The War that Saved My Life” and “The War I Finally Won.” Set in England during World War II, these heartwarming stories of evacuees literally made some of us cry. Read them with your child and you will both fall in love with the well written characters.
So, as it gets colder and starts snowing, you’ll find us snuggled up with a book. More recommendations soon!
Enjoy a good book! Laura Bettis (Library Trustee)
