Hello I’m Indigo! I’ll be interning with the Summer Reading Program here in Donnelly.
Here I am in Golden, Colorado. In the fall, I’ll be moving to Colorado to start a Masters in Library and Information Sciences program at University of Denver.
I have an unusual name, and although it’s usually associated with the second to last color in the rainbow or the plant used to make blue dye, I am actually named after folk music duo The Indigo Girls. My favorite song of theirs is Power of Two
Before I came to Donnelly I lived in Olympia, Washington. Olympia is Washington’s state Capitol, where the government for a state is located. There, I graduated from The Evergreen State College.
Our mascot was Speedy the Geoduck (pronounced Gooey-duck), a clam found on Washington’s beaches. More about geoducks!
I have been doing theater since I was seven years old. I’ve done many shows as both a performer and choreographer. Below, I am pictured with the puppet of the Large and Terrible Frog I made for A Year With Frog and Toad.
I choreographed this musical with a 1920’s jazz score, based on Arnold Lobel’s Frog and Toad books, which are some of my personal favorites! We have some Frog and Toad books available at the library as well as other books by Lobel.
I am so excited to read with you all this summer. I can’t wait to meet everyone! Be sure to come say hi at the farmer’s market.
