End of Summer Wrap Up
We are proud to be a teaching Library. This last year we chose to have an AmeriCorps. This position came with some learning for both the Americorp as well as library staff. The wrap up of her terrific summer though is captured through the recap of #CampLibrary
Camp Library kept local kids social and learning throughout the entire summer. We hosted 3 week long camps. They ran Monday-Friday and were from 8 am to 5 pm.
Camp Library had a fee, but our Junior Friends Of The Donnelly Library gave $1800 in scholarships. The fee for Camp Library allowed us to have a program that was able to fund itself and offer much needed programming for our community.
Annabelle worked very hard and had to get out of her comfort zone several times. We had a wonderful group of kids each camp. Miss Annabelle had to blog each night so the parents / guardians would get a glimpse of our day. Please take a look at a few days to see what Annabelle and the kids did.
Also thank you to all of the following organizations that made Camp Library possible:
Valley County 4-H / University of Idaho McCall Outdoor Science School / Idaho Commission for Libraries – ICfL (Our Intern Funding , Summer STEM, MAKE-IT Grant ) Our intern, Hannah / MCPAWS Regional Animal Shelter / Lake Cascade State Park / Snowdon Wildlife Sanctuary / Kim Drake for art supplies / Scottish Rite Masons of Idaho for their book donation to ICfL / Karen Scheline Swartz for tye dye / Papa and Grandma Library for being Papa and Grandma Library (Clifford D Scheline / Kathy Scheline) / The dedicated parents, grandparents, foster parents, and guardians who brought kids. Donnelly Farmers Market and the vendors for giving our kids free fruit, coupons, space to run and to ALL the vendors at Farmers Market: THANK YOU FOR LOVING OUR KIDS!!!!!! Idaho Community Foundation for our outdoor sink. Last year when we decided we needed this, we had no idea how much we needed it. This piece of equipment has been our saving grace. Wash your hands! Wash your hands! Wash your hands! Our teachers Beth, Rebekah, Drew, Hannah and Annabelle. The teen helpers: Cason, Camas, Elaina, Amelia, Tabatha, Emery, Augustus and a few others that I am sure I am forgetting. Last, thank you to our BIGGEST supporter and the woman who helps us put on great programs for the kids in our community: Jill Layton. The Donnelly Trading Post helps fund not only our Summer Reading, but our After-School Program as well. She is a huge contributor to our Friends group and we are able to do what we do because of her. Jill is not on FB that often. Please be sure to tell her thank you for ALL the Donnelly Kids.
