We discovered The Great Barrier Reef! The book, Engineered by Nature: Great Barrier Reef, informed us about the corals, and animals that live in the Great Barrier Reef. Did you know that this can be seen from space? Corals are a type of animal, not a plant. We talked about how the reef is slowing dying and losing its color. When corals turn white, it is called bleaching. Global warming is a big concern for the roof and all of its inhabitants. How can we help the Great Barrier Reef and all of its corals and life? We can keep the waters clean. We read two books that also suggest ways to help the corals: The Brilliant Deep and Do You Really Want to Visit a Coral Reef.
On top of learning about the Great Barrier Reef, Americor demonstrated the different layers of the ocean and how density can separate portions into cool layers!
After our learning, we got to working! we focused on completing homework and reading more about saving the reefs as well as life under the sea.
