We started our time reviewing where we’ve been on our big map! This lead us to try to find Croatia, a small arch shaped country in southeastern Europe’s Balkan Peninsula. We dove into this tiny country by reading Exploring Continents: Croatia. Fun fact: Nikola Tesla was born in Croatia and Dalmatian dogs were named for Croatia’s Dalmatia Region. If you have a necktie, you can thank Croatia for inventing it, but it was originally called cravats. Since Croatians eat a lot of sea food (including octopus and squid) and various meats, we had fish sticks, and lunch meats. A common dessert, fritule, is akin to our powder doughnuts!
After learning about Croatia and trying some of its preferred foods, we spent the rest of our time reading and earning more world stamps!
