Day 45 Romania

Romania! Home to Bram Stoker’s book Dracula. Before we took a look into Romania, the kids were able to fully enjoy a beautiful sunny day by playing some outside games! After that, we sat down to read Countries We Come From: Romania. This book told us that Romania is about the size of Oregon in America and that it boarders the Black Sea. In the 1500s, the Ottoman Empire took over Romania until Romania’s independence was won in 1878. Christianity is the main religion in Romania and the world’s largest wooden church can be found here too! Was baseball invented in Romania? Oina (OYN-yah) is a Romanian sport that’s played with a stick and a ball. It’s 600 years old!

While we didn’t read Dracula, we did have fun reading Dear Vampa!
